Didn't run yesterday, varying reasons, but....
Today I ran at lunch, I ran 2k easy and got myself to the Pillars of Wisdom for a fast lap of the Tan, well I was hoping, whilst I set a PB (previous time from Nov 2003) it was very soft, the legs felt like lead weights and I was breathing like a steam train.
Time: 15m 40s
Splits: 3.47, 4.19, 4.13 & 3.20
Not very happy at all & I suspect that the hope of 39:59 - 40:20 for Sunday is probably not a realistic time for right now. :-(

Reading your blog you are showing signs of both mental and physical fatigue.
Take a 10 day break, you won't lose much but it will invigorate especially if you can get a break away somewhere.
