Sat 22 Sep 07, Tan Relays, Rd 10 of the Winter Series

19 degrees, perfect blue skies and hardly any wind, beautiful day for running! Today was the final race of the 10 race AV Winter Series. Team goals today were to run as fast as possible (of course) but to enjoy our Club comaradrie and to introduce two new members to the Club.

As the Team Manager I selected myself in the Div 7 team (slowest male) and I ran the last leg, not the best run today, slower than the previous two years...15:15

1k splits: 3:54, 4:11, 3:57, just not fast enough and sadly I was passed by a young Box Hill runner with 1.5km to go and we finished 4th. The Div 6 team finished 2nd for the day, but we were announced as the Div 6 Premiers (more than 40 points ahead of 2nd). Our Div 3 team were hoping that we could finish ahead of Sandringham as they were 2 points behind us in 5th spot for the season, but we were finished 7th and Sandy 4th, so we have finished 5th out of 14 teams in our first year. I'm unsure where our two women teams finished, but the majority of the ladies were all very happy.

So with a w/up lap, race lap and a cool down = 10km for the day.

Receiving the Premiership on behalf of many runners who have helped us win the Div 6 Premiership :-)

The last leg is always hard - teams are so spread out by then. 4 minute ks around there isn't too bad.

So how far was the 'funny' discus?
