Sun 07 Jan 07, You Yangs

I met up with Adrian this morning at 8.30am, he is getting ready for his 9th (I think) Six Foot Track Marathon and I am just building a few k's & a few hills into my legs (don't tell Tiger Boy & Clarkey ;-) ). Both of us agreed after many hot & humid days and a long day at the track yesterday we would be gentle and not run as fast as last week.

Aim today was to run for 80 minutes, so we decided we would start on the same course and run up the hill to Flinders Peak car park, which is 2.3km, starting at an elevation of 49m at the front gate and the FP car park was 157m, this took 13 minutes which was more than 1 minute slower than last week and finally both of us were starting to feel the legs loosen. Then we ran the Branding Trail, first time anti clockwise (5.35km), a short run around the car park to let the legs relax after the BIG hill and then back onto the trail in a clockwise direction this time and slightly faster. We finished up running back to front gate, just short of 16km in 85 minutes.

Not the fastest 16k I have ever run, but some tough hill work after a solid week of running & heat. :-)

The boys are returning 7am tomorrow, so an early easy paced recovery run is on order.

Maybe he'll talk you into doing 6' one day Stu? You'd have to get your 8 and 15 PBs in before December...

Nice one Stu -- You probably don't want to know that all my runs were from home this week....so that meant hills for every run....
