Wed 26 Jul 06, gym & Yarra run

12.3km today and 45km for the week so far, 22 runs/26 days this month

In the gym during my lunch break, just over 35 minutes, again starting with free weights for just over 15 minutes, 3 sets of selected exercises first set reps of 12, then 10 and for the final set 8. Then finishing off with 20 minutes of core & punching bag work. The abs are a little sore especially the obliques.

Tonight's run started from work, Victoria Barracks in St Kilda Rd, Burkie's instructions were approx 60 min and sit around the 5 min area. With Garmin on, singlet & shorts I took off towards the Yarra along St Kilda Rd, over the Princess Bridge and down along the Yarra upto Mac Robertson bridge, crossed the freeway & river and made my way back to St Kilda Rd and back to the barracks. Generally sitting on 5 min pace, I ran 12.3km in 58:55. Not a bad night, a lot of runners on the roads, the Nylex clock was saying the air temp was 13 degrees, so a nice pleasant evening for this time of the year.
